My Latest Shopping Expedition
So, to be honest, I haven't done a ton of shopping in the past year. I have lost a fair amount of weight and have started fitting into my older clothes, so I haven't bought anything really new.
But, after getting frustrated with clothes falling off of me, wearing the same tops over and over again and not having a winter jacket that fits me, I decided to indulge and headed over to The Mall at Short Hills and into Anthropologie. Anyone who knows me knows how I feel about Anthropologie. Everything there is unique, extremely feminine, well made, and unfortunately expensive.
I headed in and started loading my arms full of sweaters, blouses, jackets, dresses, skirts, and pants. I love the fall and winter for clothes and was absolutely in heaven with the selection. I headed into the dressing room and had one of those rare shopping experiences where everything fit, I had to go to the next size down, and everything looked great. I started to panic thinking that this was going to be a very expensive trip, but managed to control myself and settle on four items:
This is a winter jacket that I absolutely fell in love with. It's called the First Frost Coat from Elevenses. I love the light gray color and the beautiful lining. It helps that it keeps me really warm too:
The next item I selected was a beautiful emerald green blouse (I've been in an emerald green mood lately). This is called the Dewpoint Blouse from Odille. I love the detail around the collar and the ruffles that aren't overpowering, but just feminine enough:
The next item I picked up was this Crimpled Cardigan from Sparrow. I love this sweater for it's slimming shape and versatility. I can choose to wear it open like a cardigan or closed as a sweater. The color is gorgeous:
The last item I splurged on were these Imperative Trousers from Cartonniev. These trousers are so comfortable and warm. I love that they're a little higher waisted and they fit like a glove:
So, with my purchases wrapped and bagged I headed happily out of my favorite store on earth and home to add my new finds to my closet which has actually grown emptier over the past year, (guess I'll have to plan a few more shopping trips:)
